I ran in South Ogden today and decided to do a 3 mile tempo. The first one since baby #3. She's 4 months old and sleeping through the night. I don't know how I got so lucky. I started running tonight at the same time as a pretty intense thunderstorm. The wind was blowing hard and the rain was unforgiving, then the lightening started after I was about 1 mile into my warm up. It cracked right over my head twice so I decided it would be best if I took refuge in the starbucks near by. After about 10 minutes the lightening and thunder moved on and the wind wasn't blowing as hard so I ventured out again and finished a 2 mile warm up. I jumped right into the tempo but I didn't really have a goal time in mind. I pretty much just went off of feel. This was my first tempo in a year and I still haven't lost much of my baby weight despite consistent running (people say you lose weight nursing, but I don't believe them). Anyway, tempo splits were 7:10, 7:02, 6:46. I was happy with this, I needed to start somewhere. I'm hoping I continue to improve. 2 mile cool down.
