Finally Snow Canyon came. This is one of my favorite races, mostly because of scenery. My original goal for this race was to run faster then I did at this race 2 years ago. But about a few weeks ago, I was looking at my workouts from 2 years ago and saw that I wasn't as fast now. So, I decided to go for a 1:30 instead. Angie stayed with me at my in laws condo and her sister was nice enough to drive us to the start. We found Merilee up there and we got some warm up in. I was feeling good, perfect weather today. I felt strong through the whole race and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Even though my time was 30 seconds slower then 2 years ago, I feel like this race was much smarter. I pushed through miles 9 and 10, which I usually struggle with in the half marathon. I pushed hard in the end and passed one more girl right at the finish, which i never do, coming in at 6:10 pace for the last .10. Splits were: 6:34, 6:52, 6:41, 6:22, 6:12, 6:18, 6:21, 6:42, 6:31, 6:29, 6:54, 7:01. The last two miles were the toughest and had a few rolling hills. AP 6:35 overall. 2 years ago miles 10-13 were all 7:16. Much better finish this time around. Good starting point for me. I typed this up on phone, hopefully this makes some sense.

Good job Amy! Your running seems to be coming around. You'll be there before you know it.
